The Open College offers college credit through independent study. It makes college level courses available to persons who wish to earn credits with a minimum amount of campus visits. Learning resources such as video cassettes, audio cassettes and computers are available at most of the campuses to assist students. Students may interact with faculty via telephone, appointments, and organized review sessions. Tests are given at North, Kendall and Wolfson Campuses. Open College courses are accredited and recorded on student transcripts the same as all other Miami Dade College credit courses.

Courses are designed so that you can complete assignments without having to attend a class at a fixed time or place and offer new vistas in education.
